hi again and thank you for answer... 4 years ago he had a stent put in following a heart attack. they said in the hospital in lanzorote that he needed another stent but was not urgent that we should follow up with cardiologist in XXXXXXX we have done and he is on meds but no mention if getting another stent. could this be contributing to his chronic ishamic change and could it help to slow his condition if fitted with a new stent. thank you again. XXXX

Yes it can help to pump better to the brain as well. If the brain gets better blood supply and irrigate the microvasculature of the brain it helps.
However there is no direct correlation between angioplasty with stent and the slowing of dementia.
