default
Posted on Wed, 13 Apr 2016
Question: I have had two positive home pregnacy tests and one negative and the doctor or has done a blood test and it has come up positive but my HCG levels are very low at 25 and I am bleeding what chances do I have to stay pregnant?

Detailed Answer:Welcome to HCM:

Have you been pregnant before? yes and I bleed through that pregancy.
I have had a miscarriage roughly 2 year ago
And my periods for the last two months have been very irregular

Have you ever had surgical procedures before? yes from miscarriage

5. You could have had an ectopic pregnancy, did you or have you had an ultrasound? no it is too earlt for ultrsound.
How many weeks do you suspect you were pregnant? only about 3 to 4

Please note that you should visit with a gynecologist to discuss the events of this pregnancy as you may need further evaluation and investigation as to the etiology of the loss of pregnancy if that is in fact the direction that this takes.

Brief Answer:
Chances are low due to bleeding and low Beta HCG levels

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM: I am very sorry to hear about your ordeal. Please note;
1. With such low HCG levels and continued bleeding, this is what we call an imminent loss of an embryo.
2. Have you been pregnant before?
3. Have you ever had surgical procedures before?
4. The above could be responsible for an incompetent uterus.
5. You could have had an ectopic pregnancy, did you or have you had an ultrasound?
6. How many weeks do you suspect you were pregnant?
7. Please note that you should visit with a gynecologist to discuss the events of this pregnancy as you may need further evaluation and investigation as to the etiology of the loss of pregnancy if that is in fact the direction that this takes.

I hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
Thank for your answers, I believe that you a a high risk for complicatiions

Detailed Answer:
Please note that with your D&C for your miscarriage, you most probably have what we call Ashermans syndrome (scarring from surgery) which makes implantation of future pregnancies difficult.

Please visit with OB/Gyn and explain this, you need to have a formal evaluation on whats going on, and please also talk to him/her about future pregnancies. They will have recommendations for you moving forward.

Thanks again for the clarification.
