Can A Baby Cry While In The Womb?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: Hi Dr, My wife is 28 weeks pregnent and in last week she felt twice in sleep that she can hear the baby crying in her womb. Is it possible that a mother can hear the baby voice.

Also, wanted to know is there any bechmark for baby moment in a day or an hour. My wife doesnt feel the baby moments very ofent. So we had consulted our gynac, she did some test which measures the movement of baby in a span of 10 min. and noted movement, out of which my wife could feel only 3 movements. She also took the cardigram for heart. As per her, both the reports were normal.

Brief Answer:
Everything is normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand the truma associated with fall.

It is not possible for the pregnant lady to hear baby's voice or crying.

Atleast there should be 10 movements of baby in a day. If she can feel these, its normal. By your history and reports, i think your wife is normal.

Let her continue medicines she is taking.
