Hello and welcome,

Yes, you can still conceive a baby. Thirty two is not too old to have a healthy baby or to still conceive easily.

But I would gradually cut down on the weed and stop it prior to trying to conceive. Research is still out on the potential effects on the baby and what research we do have is somewhat negative. See here from NIH:

It is just best to be as drug and medication free as possible while pregnant. There is so much we don't know regarding the effects of substances on the fetus (and afterwards) as it is unethical to test things on pregnant human women. When I was pregnant, I even cut down on the large dose of Vitamin C I like to take.

I hope this information helps. Good luck to you.

thank you for your answer.

I would not smoke while pregnant, i am just affraid my years of previous use would cause me to not ovulate.

Can my previous years of marijuana use or my 16 years of being on the pill prevent me from ovulating?

Detailed Answer:
Marijuana can affect fertility, but if you find that that you are not ovulating then do go in to see an OB. Usually, we do not start looking into failure to conceive and giving meds for it until it has been a year. But if it is a problem with lack of ovulation, I would say go in sooner as you can be given meds to increase ovulation.

Since you just went off the pill, give yourself at least 3 months for your body to pick up and start cycling again. I wouldn't worry during the first 3 months if you have no cycles or irregular bleeding. But after that, do go in to see an OB.

The good news is there are many weed smokers and BC Pill users in their early 30s who have no trouble at all conceiving. So, relax for awhile and let your body get back into the swing of things.
