Brief Answer:
Xanax, Ativan are safe but Intermezzo may cause anorgasmia in rare patients

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HEALTH CARE MAGIC

Xanax (alprazolam) and Ativan (Lorazepam) are benzodiazepines drugs and these drugs are not associated with sexual side effects at normal doses. Intermezzo is Zolpidem and this drug can cause sexual side effects like anorgasmia in rare patients. The side effect is not common but yes the drug can cause in some rare susceptible patients.

You also have chronic fear of infidelity of wife and this could be one of main reason for your complaints of anorgasmia. Normal sexual functioning requires hormonal factors, physical health, psychological health functioning in normal manner. You have fear of infidelity of your spouse and this could be one of main psychological reason for your poor orgasm. Age is other factor as with advancing some decline in sexual functioning also occurs.

I would advise you to get your BP checked along with blood sugar levels. Poorly controlled sugar is one of main reason for poor sexual functions.

I would also advise you to get your free testosterone, prolactin levels checked to find out any hormonal reason behind poor orgasm.

Other medicines you are taking like diovan, xarelto, melatonin, tylenol etc are also relatively safer in terms of sexual dysfunction. But Digoxin in various research studies is implicated in reducing androgens and may cause sexual dysfunction. But such side effects are observed in high doses and in chronic use. I would advise you to discuss with your doctor about digoxin doses and if this is one of the reasons for sexual dysfunction.

Thanks, hope this helps you. Don't hesitate to ask again if you have more doubts

It seems that my increase in use of Intermezzo may coincide with problem.
MY urologist measured my Testosterone , and it is low. Have had one,200 mgm, shot.
Last year , I was getting 300 mgm every 2 weeks and had no trouble. Moved from CA to FL and am just now getting new docs.
Have penile implant and can perform forever, so my wife is satisfied. But, I know she wants me to climax as well.
I am a physician and overthink everything.
I'll stop Intermezzo and get more testosterone.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Get your testosterone levels re-checked

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for writing to HCM again

Yes, increase in doses of Intermezzo may be a possibility for your problems. Get your testosterone levels checked again and if need be, go for shots. Stop intermezzo as it is also not advisable to use on regular basis for long periods of time. Don't think about this thing again and again, you will improve.

Thanks :)
