Posted on Wed, 23 Dec 2015
Question: Is Tindamax a sulfa drug - had a severe allergy to plaquenil (and we think it was the sulfa in the med) a lot of my family members siblings and my parents and 1 child has bad allergy to sulfa meds. I am able to have sulfur - like in eggs - however allergic to sulfites (preservatives in pills and foods) not to sure about sulfate.
would appreciate your opinion and is it ok to take antidepressant lexapro 1/2 tab at night with tindamax or fluconazole for Candida and Clotrimazole lozenges for candida in mouth - now have candida and also Babesia bad - effecting my diaphragm and GI tract - demobilized taking Malarone and babesia getting immune to the Malorone and breathing getting harder.

Brief Answer:
Not a sulfa drug

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

I understand that you are allergic to sulfa group of compounds. Tindiazmax, Lexpro and clotrimazole are safe and do not contain sulfa moeity.
I would like share with you a PDF which will list out the common drugs which you need to avoid in order to prevent a reaction. It is not just sulfa drugs but a few other non sulfa drugs can cause reactions in people who are allergic to sulfa compounds. Always speak to your doctor before taking any drugs, do not self medicate.
