Can Seroquel Be Taken For Sleeplessness?

Question: I have chronic pain which makes it very difficult to fall asleep. I wake up in two to three hours and can not go back to sleep. I am taking Ambein know and need to titrate down to DC. The last visit 6 months ago we talked about the possibility of seroquel. He left the area and I am looking for another Dr. What can you tell me about seroquel for sleep.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Seroquel in low dose is quite effective for sleep. Infact I am great fan of it for elderly population and use it extensively.

Most of my patients respond well with dose ranging from 12.5 mg to 50 mg art bed time. Fortunately the side effects are almost nil at this dose and we can expect some improve,meant in pain symptoms.

In my experience alsmost 30% people with seroquel do not get sleep or have less than optimum sleep but at least 70% have great sleep.
