Brief Answer:
Your doctor is correct.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
I am Dr Aslam here to help you.
What your doctor said is 100% true.
Pradax contains the active ingredient Dabigatran,a direct thrombin inhibitor.Advil conatains Ibuprophen, which belongs the class of NSAIDs,and interfere with platelet function.
When these are taken together on a regular basis or for long duration, there is added risk of severe bleeding, which can be life threatening at times. So the combination is to be avoided for long term, especially at your age(above 75 years, increase the risk of bleeding further).
You can take one or two tablets of advil for temporary relief after informing your doctor. But regular use is contraindicated.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further questions,I will be happy to help.
Wishing you good health,Thank you.
