Can Ocuvite And Calcium Supplements Cause Night Sweats?

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Sep 2018
Question: I am almost 77 years old. A couple weeks ago I started waking up about 3 AM being hot and my mattress & pillow hot also. I have not had night sweats for quite a lot of years! I have been taking Stiolto Respimat for several weeks, but this does not seem to be a noted side effect. The only other things I take (and have for several years) are Ocuvite for eye health and calcium for osteoporosis. I shall also check with my G.P., but wondered if you might have any thoughts about this.

Brief Answer:
Medication you listed unlikely to be the cause.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I appreciate your concern.

If the night sweats are not associated with fever and weight loss then most likely it would not be a result of a pathological process. It would be wise to get complete blood count with basic metabolic profile done in consultation with your doctor to look for a possible cause. After clinical examination if relevant, thyroid function tests can also be advised. The medication you listed are unlikely to be the cause for the night sweats.

Wishing you best of health.

I hope this answers your query.

Take care.
