Can Lyme's Disease Cause Weakness And Psychosis?

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Nov 2017
Question: My sister-in-law was born weak on her left side, I mean left brain, left arm, left leg, etc. She has been retired from work after 40 years of it, and was diagnosed with syryngiomyelia, water on the brain.
After a lot of doctoring in Pgh. PA, they think she could have Lyme's disease. She is very weak, and can hardly stand up. When we were there two years ago for Christmas and New year's she tried to kill herself and my brother with a butcher knife at 4 a.m. on New Year's Day morning. We don't go home to spend time with them, we think she's kind of nuts!

What is wrong with her? When she's normal, she's really nice! We really wish we could help her!

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

Of course, I shall be glad to help you with my best opinion in this regard. However, the description you have given here is kind of vague. With your description, I am not sure about the cause of her unilateral weakness since birth.I also wonder why was she suspected as Lyme's disease? I would like to see her medical documents.

So,please upload them and I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
