Can Lexapro Cause Splotchy Vision?

default
Posted on Fri, 26 Jun 2015
Question: I have brief episodes of solitary vision daily. Blood pressure is normal. I take 10mg Lexmark and 10 mg creator 3x a week. Ophthalmologist has examined my eyes and states they ate very healthy. PvP stumped. Reading on my kindle or smartphone at times will precede an episode but not always.
My kindle edited me! It is splotchy vision...not solitary!
Lexapro and Crestor are meds I take. PcP has examined me and found no apparent reason.

Brief Answer:
It can be because of drug Lexapro.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam
Welcome to Health care Magic

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having problem episodes of splotchy vision.
The drugs you are taking particularly Lexapro belongs to group of serotonin reuptake inhibitor.

Rarely this drug is known to cause blurring of vision and abnormal accommodation.
Since you have consulted your primary care physician and the examination is normal the intake of this drug may be the cause in your case.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for prescription of alternate drug to Lexapro.

Hope this information is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
