Can I Take Aspirin With Amlopidine Bestylate?

default
Posted on Wed, 24 Jul 2013
Question: Can I take 325 mg aspirin with my 10 mg Amlopidine Bestylate?
Or would 700mg of aspirin be acceptable as well?
Or Tylenol?

thanks for your health concerns. there is no significant interaction between aspirin and amlodipine, it is a safe combination. If the aspirin is for pain relief, the usual recommended dose is not to exceed 1.5 g in one day; for acetaminophen you should not exceed 4 g in a day, or more than 2 g if you consume alcohol regularly.

I was wondering if taking an omega 3-6-9 supplement is ok while on Amlopidine Bestylate. I notice my blood pressure is elevated right before I take my medicine in the morning and then its lower in the evenings. Is that normal? would it matter if i take my medicing an hour or two earlier than the normal 11:15am or does it need to be at the same time every daY? Thank you.

Dear XXXXXXX

1) No interactions either with omega fatty acids

2) Amlodipine is a medication whose effect lasts about 24 hours so if you measure the blood pressure at the "tail" of that period might be more elevated; it is not concerning. The best practice is to take the medication exactly at the same time each day to avoid ups snd downs
