Question: Can I have a traditional connective tissue graft to cover exposed roots, after having a pinhole technique periodontal surgery and not being happy with the amount of root coverage I got?

the first photo i uploaded was a "before" pinhole surgery photo, and the second photo was an "after" photo, in which I feel like it looks like i lost some root coverage on some of the teeth, particularly the canine

Brief Answer:
Soft tissue graft can be helpful in treating recession.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Well, for large areas of root exposure due to gum recession you can opt for connective tissue graft.

This is a common procedure done for gum recessions.

From the pictures it looks like you can go for graft procedure.

But I would suggest you to consult a Periodontist and get checked.
A clinical examination and an x ray can be done.

First of all infection can be completely treated with antibiotics and a deep scaling and then if the condition is favorable then grafts can be placed.

Consult a Specialist that is a Periodontist and get examined.

Please let me know if you have more queries.

thank you so much for your time and detailed response. I just wanted to clarify that already having the pinhole surgery done to the gums does not make it so that I cannot have an additional connective tissue graft surgery after having the pinhole surgery and not being satisfied with the results?

Brief Answer:
Conventional gun graft can be attempted.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Although pinhole gum graft is a lesser invasive technique and has good outcomes but in case if it does not give you appropriate results then you can opt for conventional gum graft procedure.
Consult with a Periodontist and get checked..
