Brief Answer:

Cytotec alone is no protocol

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The pregnancy termination kit comes as a kit of 5 tablets. One tablet containing mifepristone that is to be taken orally followed up 48 hours later by vaginal insertion of 2 misoprostol tablets.

The rest of the 2 pills of tablet misoprostol (Cytotec) are to be inserted vaginally 12 hours after the vaginal insertion of the first 2 tablets.

This procedure must be followed whether or not you start bleeding in the interim period because sometimes some products of conception may get retained in spite of prolonged or heavy bleeding.

Such medical methods are to be used only after confirming the presence of an intra-uterine pregnancy and hope you have done the same.

There is also a possibility of retained products of conception after using the medical method of termination of pregnancy and hence it would be a good idea to confirm complete evacuation by getting a medical ultrasound of the pelvis done after 2 weeks of using the kit.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

mifepristone And the kit you’re talking about is not available here, the only thing that’s available here is misoprostol,
Is this true (For pregnancies of gestational age up to 12 weeks (84 days)
The recommended method of medical abortion is 800 μg of misoprostol administered by vaginal or sub- lingual routes. Up to three repeat doses of 800 μg can be administered at intervals of at least 3 hours, but for no longer than 12 hours.)

Brief Answer:

meet your gynecologist now

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The protocol that you mention usually fails as placentation is not discontinued by misoprostol which is the role of mifepristone, so misoprostol alone is not recommended as for protocol.

However in your case, now it is important that you should get an ultrasound pelvis done and check for retained products and also seek a per vaginal examination which shall indicate as to how mush has the cervix opened up for delivery of contents. Please meet your gynecologist now.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
