Brief Answer:
Not indicated for use on hair

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic.

Cosvate GM cream contains steroid along with antibiotic and antifungal drug. It is normally indicated in allergic reactions by general practitioners. It should not be used on hair as lotions are recommended for hair and not creams. If used on the facial skin it leads to increased hair growth.
For what indication are you prescribed this medicine ?

I hope to have answered your query.

Brief Answer:
Don't use this cream on scalp, can be used for body

Detailed Answer:
In such cases I recommend my patients to use a shampoo containing flucinolone twice weekly and apply candid b lotion on the itchy and flaky scalp twice daily. For scalp don't go for this cream .For skin you can apply this cream but dilute it in moisturizing lotion in the ratio of 1:4. Also don't use harsh soaps for bathing. I think this will help you.

Brief Answer:
Cosvate cream not meant for face, undergo tests to find cause of hair fall

Detailed Answer:
For hair fall we first need to find out the cause. The commonly encountered causes seen by me are thyroid abnormalities, anemia, chronic diseases, certain drugs, fever like typhoid and malaria and after delivery.
To find out the cause go for thyroid function tests, haemoglobin and serum ferritin levels. If these tests are normal you can start with tablet follihair once daily, tablet pabatab BZ twice daily and apply folifast hair tincture 8- 10 drops on the scalp at night. These should be continued for 5-6 months .
Cosvate GM cream is not meant for face as it contains high potency steroid. It's application on face can lead to various side effects like redness, pimples, thinning of skin and increased hair growth. So don't use it on face.
