default
Posted on Sat, 25 Jul 2015
Question: Hello. My resting pulse has been in the upper 90s and low 100s for the last few weeks. I am on blood pressure medicine: amlodipine, lisinipril Hydrochlorathiazide. My doctor added recently coreg (carvedilol), and wonder if it is contributing to these high rates? (BP 138/103 and 147/99 two days ago.) Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Discuss with your doctor about increasing the dose of Carvedilol.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking me directly!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

After reviewing your BP and HR values I would like to say that your BP and HR is slightly elevated and all the efforts should be made to control them.

My opinion is that you should discuss with your doctor about increasing the dose of Carvedilol to 12.5 mg in order to control your BP and HR.

The actual dose is the starting dose of carvedilol and the dose may be increased to 25mg in order to give the BP below 140 / 90 mmHg and resting HR below 85 bpm.

Hope this was of help!
Wish you health!
