Can Chlamydia Infection Be Contracted Through Non-penetrative Intercourse?

default
Posted on Wed, 23 Aug 2017
Question: I had a physical exposure 21 days ago. Did not have any kind of penetration or oral sex. Was worried if i have got hiv, so got tested on 8th day with hiv1 rna quantitative test and the result was target not found. Same day got hiv1 /2 p24 combo test and it came negative. Again got tested on 16th day for hiv1/2 p24 4th generation test, it also came negative. Same day i got tested for other std as well and came positive for chlamydia.

1. How conclusive are my hiv tests. Can we say that i don't have hiv?
2. I am worried as i have got chlymadia, is there a chance i could have got hiv as well, the same way. I did not have any intercourse or oral sex still i got chlymadia.

Brief Answer:
Please don't worry! There is no risk for HIV .

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you writing in healthcare magic.

You should know that Chlamydia is transmitted through sexual contact with the penis, vagina, mouth, or anus of an infected partner but ejaculation does not have to occur for chlamydia to be transmitted or acquired.
Maybe you have chlamydia infection before this physical exposure because most people who have chlamydia don’t have any symptoms.
But you cannot get HIV without sexual intercourse or direct blood contact.
1.Based on your history , without sexual intercourse, HIV RNA test and 4th generation test I think are very accurate and having a negative results is a good news. But according the guidelines are not conclusive on 8th and 21 th days.
2. Please don't worry , there is any chance to get HIV infection without sexual intercourse even if you have got chlamydia.

I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.
