Question: MY FATHER WAS RECENTLY PRESCRIBED BROVANA NEBULIZER SOLUTION WHICH WAS DELIVERED TO HIS DOOR ON FRIDAY EVENING. DUE TO HOLLIDAYS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REACH ANYONE TO GET ANSWERS. I CONTACTED HIS PHARMACIST WHO SAID I SHOULD SPEAK WITH HIS CARDIOLOGIST. HE HAS THE FOLLOWING DIAGNOSESE: BIGEMINY, CHF, SLOW HEART RATE, HYPERTENSION, HYPERTHYROIDISM AND DIABETES. UNFORTUNATELY THESE ARE ALL LISTED AS PROBLEMS TO REPORT TO HIS DR BEFORE STARTING THE MEDICATION

I have not gotten a reply as to whether he can use this medication safely

Brief Answer:
Yes you should consult his doctor or a cardiologist before using it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thanks for posting your query on HCM

Brovana is a long acting beta agonist. It is used in the management of COPD and Asthma. It is known to have certain adverse effects on the heart. Though the incidence is not very high but it is definitely there. Keeping his age in view I am of the opinion that you should consult his doctor or a cardiologist before using it.

Hope this answers your query.

Take care.
