2) NITROFIX 20 TWO TIMES A DAY
3) DEPLATT A ONE TIME
4) ORVAS20 ONE TIME
6) HALF LASIX,LIVOGEN AND HALF FRUSELAC
From around 2 days he is having cough (not dry) and he has taken benadryl. My question is that is it safe to take benadryl or do we need to take any other syrup. Please do check the medicines he is taking

Brief Answer:
benadry can be taken if he is diagnosed with allergic cough withoutany harm

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX i can understand your concern, your father was diagnosed with coronary artery disease and is taking complete treatment for the same.

I hope he is doing fine apart from this new onset cough. I would like to inform you that benadryl contains antihistaminics, used mainly for dry cough in patients of seasonal or allergic cough.

We need to ask few more questions such as whether he has nasal discharge, sore throat, fatigue, low grade fever etc along with this cough or not. If these are present they will be more suggestive of allergic cough.
Apart from this whether he is producing sputum or not , if yes what is its amount , color and smell. Whether he has any chest pain or breathlessness or not.because he is of old age with comorbid conditions proper examination and x-ray chest may be needed to reach correct diagnosis if chest pain or breathlessness or sputum is there.

Benadryl is safe in cardiac patients and has no significant interaction with cardiac medicines so it can be taken along with it.it may cause some drowsiness and sedation that you have to take care of.

Hope i have answered your question ,please feel free to message me if you have any other concerns.
