Brief Answer:
You can go with AZITHROMYCIN as it is better.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there and Welcome,

Thank you for asking HCM,

I have gone through your query. Amoxicillin is not effective for bacteria like Haemophilus influenzae and Beta-Lactamase producing bacteria.

In that case Azithromycin (Azithral) is effective and better. So you can go on with Azithral and supportives like Syp GRILLINCTUS, EBASTINE as already prescribed by the Pediatrician, also some Steam Inhalation .

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

I saw most of the doctors preacribe amoxcillin first line drug specially in cough...i thought like i stopped amoxcilliin in 3 and half days rather 5 days thats why it relapsed and i should go again with the dame medicine...but i changed the doctor and went to the near one and she gave azithral 200.
Now my queries are :
1. If Azithral 200 is good to proceed with 5ml dose daily for 3 days...is azithral 200 OK for less then 5 years old ?

2. Is lucomite syrup can be given along with azithral , ebast , grinlinctus...?? Luvomite has ambroxl hydrochloride.

3. Steam inhalation with which medicine ? Like budesal , livolin and how much times and dose.

4. If cough doesnt go through azithral in recommended 3 days ?

5. How many days should supplements ..grinlinctus , ebast and lucomite be given ?

Brief Answer:
Yes, you can go with azithral.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

1. Amoxycillin is given as first line antibiotic but ask you already started and stopped it better to go with azithral. It is ok for less than 5 years. Usual dose given is 10 mg per Kg per day. That is for 10 kg weight 100 mg per day.

2. Lucomite syrup (mucolytic) is not needed if you give grilinctus which is also a mucolytic.

3.Steam inhalation just with plain steam. It can be given twice daily.

4 If severe cough doesn't go in 3 days or there is breathlessness , you should have a follow up with your doctor. Cough can last 1 week. If yellowish or thick sputum and fever is absent then nothing to worry. It will gradually subside.
5. supportives like grilinctus and ebast can be continued till 5 days.

Let me know if anything not clear. I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
