Question: can a .5 ativan be cut in half to a .25 my pharmacy said no and refused to fill perscription

This is a prescription we just want to know is it can be cut to a .25 or not the pharmacy said no otherwise they would make it in that dose and it's to small to cut I would love a concise answer from someone
