Can Amoxicillin Be Taken For Ear Infection?

Question: just a question, I had a sore throat, suspected strep but ended up being a nasty virus and sinus infection, was on amoxilcillin for 7 days, got better ...I have been off of it for a little over a week..now I had this tickle in my lower throat, coughing..off and on. thought it was the end of this virus, but I was feeling like I was coughing a lot. went to the medical aid, they said both my ears looked red, but my lungs sounded clear. I just had post nasal drip, so they put me back on amoxilcillin, is that OK? will the amoxil clear my ear issue?

I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
This could be upper respiratory infection with extension to ears.
If I was your treating doctor, I would recommend Amoxicillin with clavulinic acid.
I also recommend levocetrizine with phenylephrine for post nasal drip and to reduce congestion.
Analgesics like paracetamol for pain relief.

I can't take augmentin. I have severe stomach issues with vomiting.

I've taken it with food. I cannot take that medication. I will stay on the amoxil. will using 1 part vinegar and one part alcohol drops help also?
