Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

You are currently taking two medications which can be causing this problem.

1) Escitalopram.
2) Amlodipine.

With Amlodipine benazapril, it is very uncommon to get weight gain and impotence , but with escitalopram it is considerably common side effect, there are many people who report sexual problems, like performance, lack of desire or loss of erection even if desire is there.

This thing can be dealt with though, some doctors deal with it by changing the antidepressants, others decide to give some drug like Viagra to the patient to help with erection. Here I would mention that while using benazepril one had to take care while taking Viagra as this can cause sudden drop in blood pressure which can be dangerous so it is always advised that you visit your doctor and discuss about your problem and this option.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
