default
Posted on Thu, 28 Sep 2017
Question: I am a 73 year old male on a prescription of Amiodarone 200 every other day. Today was pill day and here in XXXXXXX (temp 93-feels like 102) as my wife and I were picking up palm branches to put in the yard trailer I felt very out of breath. I had to stop 3 times and then came in to ask you if this could be related to my medication.

Brief Answer:
What is your blood pressure?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

With high temperatures, you sweat so much that the blood pressure falls lower because of dehydration. This is probably the cause of your symptoms. I will suggest that you take a rest, drink water and resume work when the temperatures fall below 80.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
