Thanks for the query.

Thanks for posting your query. I suggest you to immediately get your child evaluated from the ER as it is still not clear whether he has taken Trazodone or not.

Safety and effectiveness in the pediatric population for this drug have not been established.

Children who have accidentally ingested this drug may show anxiety, agitation, insomnia, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness and decreased blood pressure.

The reactions reported most frequently have been drowsiness and vomiting. Moreover there is no antidote for this drug and treatment is basically supportive and symptomatic especially in the case of hypotension or excessive sedation. In such a case, forced diuresis may be useful in facilitating elimination of the drug.

Hence I sincerely advise you to consult ER immediately if you notice any of these symptoms.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.
