Question: At what age will a girl start to ovulate ?
Is pregnsncy impossible before a girl has ovulated for the first time ?
Thirdly , is ovulation completely impossible in young girls around 3,4,5 ?
Finally, if a girl has not ovulated, then their bodies are not capable of getting pregnsnt as they don't have the appropriate hormones to support a pregnancy ? Is this correct

Brief Answer:
yes ovulation is necessary for pregnancy generally

Detailed Answer:
In concern with your query regarding ovulation and pregnancy , i would like to tell you that a woman when she attains her first menses as we call it,"menarche". one may note that the initial cycles after menarche for 2-3 years are usually anovulatory cycles where no ovulation occurs and the menses may be irregular due to hormonal maturation.then after 2-3 years when cycles tend to regularize and there is associated dysmenorrhoea or pain during menses, it indicates that she has started ovulation which means that a single dominant follicle or ova is recruited under hormonal control and which can be fertilized there upon by a sperm. so in short , she can get pregnant only when she ovulates.

if she has not had her periods yet and not ovulated yet, then it doesn't mean that she is not capable of pregnancy in future, simply because, in some young girls menarche may occur as late as 16-17 years also, that is what we call ,"late menarche".

regarding your third question, pregnancy is not possible naturally with intercourse if the lady has not ovulated, that is what is known as the safe period , a natural contraception method. but again there are techniques where eggs/ovas are harvested just before ovulation under ultrasound guidance from the ovary ( known as ova harvesting) , and the eggs are fertilised invitro to create an embryo by process called ICSI( intracytoplasmic sperm injection) for artificial fertilization, for couples who are undertaking treatment for infertility.

For information, she carries 3 lakh immature follicles at birth which reduce to 400 by puberty when she menstruates. Only one follicle matures of the total recruited during each cycle and becomes dominant and undergoes ovulation and rest undergo atresia.

women ovulate between 15-17 years of age generally.

So it's impossible for babies to have babies in the sense that no egg is released at such young ages . This only happens when the girl is matured , and gained puberty , breast, and pubic hair . Then after she will ovulate which means that her body can support a pregnsncy ?
