Brief Answer:
OCP are safe and effective

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Oral contraceptive pills are largely safe and can be taken for years by either newly married or for couplaces want spacing between children. If you are below 35 and do not have any significant medical history for yourself and family (cardiac disease, stroke, breast cancer, uterine cancer, abnormal bleeding) I will advice you to take oral contraceptive pills. They are safe at this age in absence of these problems and can be taken once a day with minimal or no risk. There are minimal chances of weight gain and with routine exercise the weight issue can be tackled effectively.

Tablet today is safe and effective but use of it is cumbersome. If you are comfortable with idea of inserting tablet deep into vagina before intercourse this can be used for it. It does not affect your body in any way and weight neutral for you. Infact it is spermicidal and destroys men sperm before they are able to fertilize any of the available egg.

I do not favor/recommend any type of dieting but for healthy body it is essential to have at least 45 minutes per day or 200 minutes per weeks of moderate exercise. This will keep your weight in check.

In addition I like to inform you that among available contraceptives condom is most safe while OCP are most effective. You need to decide according to your needs.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
