Are There Any Retractable Catheters Available To Be Inserted Into The Pubic Stoma?

Question: Is there a retractable catheter which can be inserted into my supra pubic stoma so that i may hide the ugly hose when it is not in use?

You can not put retractable catheter in supra pubic route .

Thanks for query .
The basic aim in putting a supra-pubic catheter is to have efficient and continuous drainage of urine from bladder which makes mandatory to put self retaining indwelling catheter .

If you wish to hide catheter it can be plugged for short period of time and kept under cloths so that it can not be seen from outside. However it is to be reconnected to urine bag in order to reestablish drainage to serve the basic purpose of continuous drainage of bladder .

First off, thank you! Good answer...

But it's so ugly and I have to do something. My bladder has good capacity and fullness sensation so plugging off in day time no problem.

I suppose I'll have to craft a replacement style myself. I just hate to have to reinvent the wheel.

I can understand your concern and agony that you are going through .

You can discuss with your Urologist as regards surgery called Mitrofanoff Appendicovesicostomy,It is a surgical procedure in which the appendix is used to create a conduit between the skin surface and the urinary bladder to drain out your bladder twice or thrice daily by self catheterization where you will be free from S.P.C

Question:

Can I insert a Foley Catheter and bag to the Mitrofanoff Appendicovesicostomy port at night time? The one good of the Supra pubic catheter is not having to get up at night time to pee.

You can empty your bladder before going to bed

Thanks for follow up .

After successful Metrofennofs operation you can empty your bladder with plain simple silicon catheter and will be free from indwelling Foley catheter and urine bag .
Once yo empty your bladder before going to bed you will not have to empty it again till next day morning neither it will disturb your sleep .
