Are There Any Adverse Effects Of Rabemac DSR On Kidneys?

Question: Dear Doctor,
I have been suffering from prolong sore throat for some time. I consulted an ENT specialist for relief. 70 degree Lyragoscopy was done by the specialist and diagnosed the condition as GERD and prescribed me Rabemac DSR one cap twice daily for ten days. As I am a kidney patient, my Nephrologist revised the dose and advised me to take the same cap once a day only (my serum Creatinine was 2). I had the cap once a day for twenty days and stopped taking it about ten days back. As I could not get complete relief (mild pain in throat and dry cough persist). Again I consulted my Nephrologist he advised me to continue the drug. I have been taking the medicine for last three days. Please advise me, as to whether I will get relief of the condition after having the same medicine or I need to change the medicine, will it affect my kidney for prolonged use of the medicine. Please advise me

Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that prolonged use of Rabemac DSR may affect your kidney.
For your kind information Rabeprazole have Extensive hepatic metabolism mainly by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4 isoenzymes and Excretion: Mainly via urine (approx 90%), the remainder via faeces.

Either you go for strict monitoring of renal function test or change to the safer antacid.
