I have a baby boy age of 6months old. We are following one doctor immunization record and giving the vaccinations as scheduled in that record.

Today I was checking my friend's baby immunization schedule and I observed that Rotavirus1, Rotavirus2, Rotavirus and PCV1, PCV2, PCV3 are listed in their record and these are not available in our record, and we have not given them to my baby.

Can you tell me what are they?
Are these vaccines are mandatory for my kid? If so, can those be given now?
Can I know the price of the vaccines?

Thanks, XXXXXX

Thanks for your query.

These are vaccinations against pneumonia and diarrhea.

Rotavirus vaccination prevents viral diarrhea.
PCV is a pneumoccocal vaccine which prevents from pneumonia and meningitis.

These are not yet included in WHO PROTOCOL ,( WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION PROTOCOL) for vaccination.

But otherwise they are being used widely and are very effective.

Yes, they can be given now at age of 6 months and your pediatrician will guide you regarding its schedule.

There price range is variable but not very costly.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
