Question: Hello, Had a strenuous workout last Thursday 2/11, Bicep, Elbow and upper forward on the left arm (brachialis strain?) was initially sore (muscle ache after a hard work out), able to move arm full range of motion, not acheing as much but now noting increase swelling in the same area's, but not as painful. Continuing with ibuprofen, don't see anything just concerned with the swelling - which I've never had before. Should I be concerned about cellulitis ?

Brief Answer:
Cellulitis, DVT

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

The area needs to be examined. If there is redness ,pain , swelling and warmth that involves a limitted area then it's likely to be cellulitis.

If your doctor suspects a DVT then a doppler ultrasound of the arm must be done to rule it out. Antibiotics can be prescribed empirically for treating the cellulitis.
