Are Soreness And Bumps On The Lips Signs Of Thrush?

Question: My lips are sore, sort of feel like they have been sunburnt, but also feel like there a tiny bumps on the upper lip. Could this possibly be thrush. The inside of my mouth is fine.

I could send a picture but I don't think the resolution would be good enough to see the bumps. Basically, it looks like really tiny blisters and my lips just look really red/chapped. I recently (7 days ago) had a bout of 24 hr stomach flu and this hasn't gotten worse since then.

I am sorry that you cannot send a picture. That could be helpful in resolving your case.

However, as per your saying, I am still thinking of herpes simplex blisters. That's not worrisome. If confirmed, applying antiviral cream locally can help.

Otherwise, please keep good hygiene, keep applying petroleum jelly, do not bite your lips, keep well hydrated drink plenty of water.

That will take a few more days to fully disappear.
