Are Rib Pain And Breathing Trouble Symptoms Of Appendicitis Attack?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Jul 2015
Question: Good morning. one night i went to sleep the next morning i woke up and it felt like i broke my left rib. i don't remember falling out of bed. as the bed is only 16inches off the ground. my fear is that it may be something more like my appendix or something of that sort. as it is at times difficult to breath and move around without pain or to simply get out of a chair without a lot of discomfort. i have yet been to a doctor to check this out. which i think should be my next move. suggestions?

Brief Answer:
see doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This is concerning and needs a thorough examination by your doctor. If you have a cracked rib there is nothing much to do about that, it will heal in time but if there is something else going on in your lungs or abdomen causing the pain and trouble breathing then this needs to be sorted out and treated.
You will need an exam and probably a chest xray and blood tests.
Please see a doctor as soon as possible.
