Brief Answer:
it will be clear in a day, yes it is side effect of trazodone likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Yes trazodone can cause effects on heart rhythm. There are many case reports of that.Your feeling of palpitation is likely due to trazodone only. However with single dose it is not going to cause any serious complication.

Trazodone is 70-75% eliminated through urine. So just drink sufficient water and drug will clear from your body in 12-18 hours completely.

And I would like to add one note: If I were your treating doctor I would like to increase the dose of ambien up to 10 mg for sleep disturbance. If not improvement with that, my choice will be clonazepam or lorazepam. Please discuss this with your treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further if any need.

regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
