Brief Answer:
An evaluation by a neurologist and other tests may be needed.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

CT scan, especially without intravenous contrast enhanced, is not a specific examination for the diagnosis of the fibromuscular dysplasia.

Craniocervical vessels ( arteries ) evaluation with imaging studies are necessary to confirm or rule out fibromuscular dysplasia.

Conventional angiography is the standard examination when such diagnosis is suspected.

Since it has some associated risks, other examinations such contrast enhanced MRA could be performed first with acceptable results about the diagnosis.

However, before to consider imaging studies, an evaluation by a Neurologist is necessary to decide if there is need for further investigations or not.

Hope you found the answer helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
