Are Growth Hormone Supplements Advisable For Generalized Weakness?

default
Posted on Thu, 22 May 2014
Question: I need to get a doctor to prescribe me Human Growth Hormone (HGH).

I feel my body is weak and have chronic injuries, inflammation and tendon tears that will not heal. Problem is I'm not even physically active at all, its been many years (like 5-6) and it's gotten worse. I feel I have exhausted many conventional means and they do not seem to work. I cannot live like this with immobility and weakness. My body is breaking down and even the slightest movements seem to cause some sort of injury or tear. I feel there is inherent weakness in my bodily structure. I have gone through pretty much all conventional routes before i even considered this. please don't suggest physiotherapy, chiropractors, pain management or even psychiatrists because I have tried it all. I'm unsure of who to approach (endocrinologist, anti-aging clinic?, sports medicine doc, etc) to request this. The biggest issue is I'm a 19 year old so would they even consider? I feel weaker than someone in their 50s. I feel like someone will think I'm crazy but I am completely honest. I want an expert answer from someone who isn't going to dismiss this altogether. Hopefully an answer that addresses my question on how I would talk to a doctor about going on HGH. Then whether they think it's an appropriate and their suggestions on what I could do. Please Help.

Brief Answer:
Growth hormone supplements can be helpful

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The generalized weakness that you have is likely to be related to a generalized metabolic disorder. The other possible causes include vitamin D and magnesium deficiency; anaemia; anxiety neurosis; Hormonal imbalance like hypothyroidism; generalized viral illness; immune related disorder etc.
Growth hormone supplements can be helpful in your case but it needs a proper monitoring and dosage individualization according to the severity of your symptoms. This regular monitoring is best done under the guidance of an endocrinologist.
I would encourage you to get a few blood tests done to rule out all the above mentioned disorders and consult an endocrinologist for proper dosage and frequency.
I hope this answers your query.
