Brief Answer:
Most recognized symptoms are gout related!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this increased uric acid levels and all the inconveniences this might have caused you. Uric acid results from excessive breakdown of animal proteins. This can also occur if there is a rapid turnover of cells in the body. The best way to reduce this is to reduce the intake of read meat. Also, alcohol educes excretion of uric acid and can caused increased levels in the system. Most increased levels are silent and generally have no associated symptoms.I will say reduce meat intake and alcohol consumption and get it controlled in another two months.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

Given that I rarely drink, less than once a year; keep red meat intake to once or twice a week, and I am not diabetic nor do I have renal failure; what would cause this high level of uric acid?

Brief Answer:
It all starts with cells breakdown(purines)

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This all starts with cells breakdown. Even the body has its cells. IT is not renal failure but failure of the kidneys to excrete enough uric acids. This means that the kidneys could be functioning good overall but not excreting enough uric acid. Between, is it possible to upload the report you got from the lab for detailed interpretation?

I hope to hear from you!
