i sir,

Thanks a lot for your advices, I have some more questions. My doctor told I am into second stage of liver problem I.e. alcoholic hepatitis, it can lead to cirrhosis. So he advised to stop alcohol and junk food. Which I am doing now a days. He prescribed me lot of medicines like a) Librium 10, b) neksium 40 c) Bevon capsules 4) Ursocol 300, my questions are

1. Why he prescribed these many medicines when I am having 140+ sgpt and 70+ SGOT, my other reports are good. I have done ESR,hematology hemogram, LFT, endoscopy, thyroid profile, serum creatinine, USG. All reports are good except in LFT high sgpt/sgot and in USG mild increase in liver.

2. My weight is 82 ,height 5.9 . how much weight I need to reduce?

3. Do I require some more test like cholesterol?

4. I am having some food daily ,please let me know if anything bad for my liver brown rice, brown bread, cucumber, tomato, onion, potato, egg white, watermelon, papaya, orange ,Apple, beans, carrots, ladies finger, broccoli, spices while cooking ( cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, sometimes garam masala) , XXXXXXX lime, cabbage, eggplant, curd, ginger, garlic, fish, chicken stew, less salt I am using. And which type of oil I should use while cooking,I am using sunflower oil. Please suggest some more food which is good for liver.

5. I am not having any other health problem except digestion problem for that I have gone these test then why my doctor told I am going into alcoholic hepatitis level, when i knw few people they are also having high SGPT. But their doctor didn't prescribed these many medicines or told them that their liver is in these much bad stage.

Hello,
Second stage of fatty liver should be aggressively managed so that it doesn't advance further.
Librium and NEXIUM helps in digestion while BEVON is a multivitamin.
Ursocol is given for treating fatty liver although it's role is controversial, however it can be taken.
Reduce your weight by 10-12 kgs.
Do get tested for cholesterol levels.
Carry on with your diet you are taking. It is good.
Sunflower oil is good. You can use olive oil also.
Consumption of regular alcohol with obesity with grade 2 fatty liver should be tackled aggressively and that's why your doctor is asking you to be serious about it.
Moreover role of lifestyle modification is much much more as compared to the role of medicines.
Thanks
