Are Constant Cold, Sneezing And Headache Signs Of Herpes?

Question: Hi, i suspect i have herpes and i will be going for a checkup tomorrow, few things i need to know to calm my heart, i am constantly having cold such as sneezing. Recently my partner has also developed this symptoms, she is constantly having cold, constant sneezing , headaches and blisters, can i confirm these symptoms are symptoms of herpes ? If so what stage isit ?

First, the symptoms that you have mentioned can present with any viral infection that can cause skin lesions including herpes.

I need to see the lesions. So you need to upload a picture of the lesion if possible.

The picture I have reviewed.
At the current stage, the lesions do not typically look like a fully developed herpes.
So unless the lesions spread further, it is unlikely that this is herpes.
So, I think that even if this is herpes, it would be the first stage.
I have already said that any viral infection cause your symptoms.
So we need to wait and watch the progress/resolution of the lesions.
I would suggest testing a CBC.
Let me know the reports.
Meanwhile, take plenty of fluids.
Starting a course of Vitamins may be useful.
In herpes, acyclovir group of drugs is needed.
However, the medicine has lots of side effects.
So I would suggest meeting your local dermatologist for a prescription of appropriate dose.

Thanks Dr Mittal, what about the constant sneezing and runny nose , could that also be one of the symptoms of herpes or would it be a different kind of std. Thank you

The chances are likely that the URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) like symptoms are secondary to the viral infection.
This is called prodromal phase, and is common in many viruses.
I dont think that this is due to an STI (of course herpes is also a part of STIs).
It is uncommon for non viral causes of STIs to cause these URTI features.

Usually HIV does not cause its own symptoms.
Mostly it allows the other organisms to cause infection easily.
So, I dont think its AIDS.
Still the best way to test AIDS is to do a blood test for HIV.

Hi Dr Mittal , it is because i experience fatigue and i i'm always having a cold every week , it might be because it is winter here, but i got worried when my partner had the cold as well, therefore since it is unlikely to be std related , would there be a chance that it would hiv or aids . As I said in the prior part of the query, it doesn't manifest with a symptom of its own initially. It presents as infections from other organisms. However, since common cold can happen due to a number of viruses, it may be possible that you are developing just recurrent colds from different viruses.
Therefore, better to test with a blood serology test. As of now, it's not conclusive based on just the symptoms of cold that you can have AIDS.
