Question: Hi yes, for the past month I have been having discomfort in my chest, trouble breathing, anxiety, cough with phlem, and pressure / dizziness. I have been to the er they did a ekg and everything came back normal. I then went to the normal doctor and they also did a ekg and said it was normal. What could possible be wrong with me? are these warning signs of a possible heart attack? I also did a blood test and all came back normal. I am 30yrs and I used to smoke.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not related to any cardiac disorders.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms do not seem to be related to any cardiac disorder. Your performed ECG can confirm this.

So relax! These troubles are not indicating any serious cardiac disorder (including coronary artery disease.

A lung disorder seems to be the most probable cause of all this clinical scenario.

I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and performing further tests to investigate for the possible cause:

- a lung X ray study
- respiratory function tests
- blood lab tests for inflammation (PCR, sedimentation rate).

A lung CT scan may be needed, based on the above test results.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Kind regards,

Dr.Iliri
