Brief Answer:
it's not always necessary

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

some patients get shingles with mild symptoms so this is not very strange. Fever is not common in shingles. Pain is. If you have the characteristic fluid filled blisters (clear at first, foggy later) and the blisters are located on your half forehead and around the eye then shingles is a very likely diagnosis. A picture might help...

Shingles occurs as a reactivation of varicella-zoster virus which may occur after coming into contact with it (usually at a young age) by getting chickenpox.

I hope it helps!
Kind regards!

Yes, visiting a dermatologist or your primary care physician is the right decision. If you have eye symptoms too then you'd better visit an ophthalmologist as well because this virus may affect the eye. Valacyclovir is perhaps the best treatment option for shingles.

Kind Regards!
