Are Antibiotics Advisable For Tooth Abscess?
Question: can treatment with antibiotic of the Abscess at the rooth's of tooth (otherwise healthy tooth) be successful or tooth need to be extracted. The possible cause for the infection is previous chemotherapy treatment
The antibiotic treatment was done as my wife's side swallow a lot. Antibiotic help, but she is feeling discomfort when shewing on this tooth

An abscess can not be controlled completely by the antibiotic, rather it needs proper treatment.
Antibiotic can only give symptomatic relief but there are chances of relapse. It's always better to get the proper treatment done. You can go for Root Canal Treatment to save the tooth if you are not willing for extraction.
Even before starting any treatment, you will have to take antibiotic coverage for better results.

Sorry the abscess cannot be accessed via the root canal. This is tooth 30 and the abscess is between the roots. on the picture roots are clean and healthy but there is a dark spot between the roots. Dentist is saying bone is lost. This is why I am asking is it possible to have this threated locally inserting antibiotic between the gum and the tooth and so to save the tooth avoiding extraction
