Question: HI I'VE BEEN GOING THOROUGH MULTIPLE MEDICAL ISSUES LATELY AND I CERTAINLY APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND EXPERTISE ALOT OF SYMPTOMS I'VE PRESENTED TO MY DOCTORS LATELY BECAUSE (I GUESS BECAUSE OF MULTIPLE ARES DIDN'T CORELATE WELL ENOUGH FOR ONE DOCTOR TO DIAGNOSE SO I'D BE SENT HERE AND THERE AND EVERYWHERE) ONLY BECOMING MORE FRUSTRATED APPEARING CRAZY OR "HYPOCHONDRIAC LIKE" BUT THE ONE THING I REFUSE TO DO WAS "GIVE UP OR GIVE IN AND LET THAT 'DIAGNOSIS BE THE END" "YOU SEE MY PAIN AS WELL AS MY DESIRE TO GET BETTER AND LIVE WERE REAL!" I TURNED TO "DR. GOOGLE!" MANY SPECIALISTS TOLD ME NOT TO TRY AND SELF DIAGNOSE THE WORST THING I COULD DO WAS "GOOGLE" BECAUSE THIS WOULD SCARE ME TO DEATH AND LEAD ME TO CREATE ILLNESSES I DIDN'T HAVE!" THEY SAID JUST TRUST US IF WE DON'T FIND IT YOU DON'T HAVE IT AND IF YOU HAVE IT WE'LL FIND IT!" WELL THEY JUST LET IT GO AT THAT AND I COULDN'T! AS I STARTED TYPING IN ALL OF MY SYMPTOMS THINGS WOULD BE RIGHT THERE IN BLACK AND WHITE "IT WAS ME/IT WAS MY SYMPTOMS AND VALIDATION THESE THINGS DO CO*EXIST(MULTIPLE SYMPTOMS * MULTIPLE AREAS OF MY BODY WITH ONE DIAGNOSIS!" YOU SEE I THINK THEY WERE LOOKING AT ONLY THE PARTS OR AREAS OF MY BODY THEY SPECIALIZED IN AND IF IT DIDN'T FIT THE IT WASN'T REAL! BUT LIKE A PUZZLE SOMETIMES YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT IF YOU FOCUS ON ONE OR TWO PIECES NOT UNTIL ALL PIECES ARE TOGETHER DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE! SO I GUESS ONE QUESTION I HAVE IS MANY TIMES ON MY LIFE I'VE SEEN "WARNING IF YOU HAVE THESE SYMPTOMS SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY!" YET WHEN WE DO THEY EITHER CAN'T DIAGNOSE IT OR BLOW IT OFF LIKE "WE THE PATIENT MAKE A BIGGER DEAL OUT OF SOMETHING WE WERE TOLD TO SEEK "IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR!" SECOND QUESTION IS WHY DO THEY NOT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX IF THEIR TEST DOESN'T GIVE THE EXACT DIAGNOSIS OF WHAT THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR!" (IF THE PATIENT CAN GOOGLE IT WHY CANT THEY!" ALSO ("I MEAN NO DISRESPECT TO THE MEDICAL PROFESSION!") IF YOU HAVE DIAGNOSIS OF HYPOTHYROIDISM DO YOU AUTOMATICALLY HAVE HASHIMOTOS DISEASE /AND MY EYE DOCTOR SUSPECTED PITUITARY PROBLEMS BEING SIGN OF PROGRESSIVE RYE DISEASE (LOSING PERIPHERAL VISION) DOCTOR TESTED A YEAR PRIOR TO THYROID FAILURE OR QUITTING (FUNCTIONING) TEST RESULTS WERE NEGATIVE) SHOULD I NOW HAVE THAT RETESTED TO SEE IF PITUITARY HAS NOW STOPPED FUNCTIONING AS WELL!" (ALONG WITH THESE DIAGNOSIS'S I'VE BEEN FOUND TO HAVE HYPERTENSION/VERY LOW BLOOD PRESSURE/VITAMIN D*SEVERELY DEFICIENT/VITAMIN B/MAGNESIUM SERVER DEFICIENT (HAD CROHN'S DISEASE FOR 35 YEARS)/MILD COPD WITH MODERATE EMPHASEEMA/BOTH CAROTIDS BLOCKED (38% & 56%/(CERVICAL/THORASIC SCOLLIOS (MILD)/AND LUMBAR SURGERIES W/MULTIPLE SPINAL DISORDERS) AND THE LIST GOES ON!" THANKS AND HAVE A BLESSED DAY!"

Brief Answer:
Need endocrine evalaution

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Oops. I had to really scan through your question.
Not all hypothyroidism are due to Hashimotos disease. However, most cases of hypothyroidism are due to it.
It is premature to assume that your pituitary is the culprit just on the base of an eye examination. You need to do an MRI scan of the pituitary . You may also need pituitary hormone testings.

Vitamin D deficiency is very common and is easily treatable.
Even hypothyroidism is a very easy disease to treat.

Google can guide you or misguide you. You need to talk to your endocrinologist and discuss all your problems. He should be able to guide you further. Overtesting can be avoided if you meet an endocrinologist
Best regards
Binu

Brief Answer:
Endocrinology evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your comments. You are welcome to discuss further.

As an endocrinologist,my policy would be to take a detailed clinical history and examination , so that we can do focused investigations. An endocrinologist will be able to examine you and derive certain conclusions and based on that, they will do a very focused investigations. In that way, unnecessary tests could be avoided. An endocrinologist will have in depth knowledge about pituitary and thyroid than an internist.

Discuss with your internist and if he thinks that you qualify for an endocrine evaluation, then certainly it is worth it. With the case history what you provided, i feel that you qualify for an endocrinology evaluation.

Not to worry, most of these are easily treatable. You need to relax and take it easy. Please do some yoga or meditation which is helpful.

Kind regards
Binu
