default
Posted on Tue, 7 Oct 2014
Question: I had unprotected sex once with someone other then my husband a week ago. 3 days after I got tested both swabs and bloodwork and all was negative. The Doctor and Nurse said it was accurate but everything I'm reading says it was too soon. I'm really concerned.

I have had one partner for 10 yrs and tested negative for all STDs for the last 10 yrs. I had one new unprotected vaginal sex encounter last week with a person I had just met. I have no symptoms and just got my period. I was tested 2 days after the encounter for Chlamydia, gonnorrhea, trich, syphyllis, HIV, Herpes 1 and 2 and herpes 1 and 2 recent exposure as well as Hep b and c. All came back negative, could this be at all accurate for any or all tests?

Brief Answer:
Not conclusive at this stage.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
If the partner is not having any disease you need not worry .
It is good that it is negative for all STDs.
2 days after inter course exposure I do not see any tests for diseases mentioned to be conclusive even if negative.
As all can have incubation period for days.
So you can look for any symptoms and get tests done depending on symptoms if any or get tests done after at least 2 weeks.
The chances of HIV unprotected inter course by is very rare (1/200 to 1/2000 ) even if partner is HIV positive.so chances is rare.
You can get back for clarification else close the discussion and rate
