Hi XXXXXXX,

Thanks for posting your query

Blocked nose is most commonly caused due to Common cold, Deviated nasal septum(especially during winter seasons) and any Bacterial infection.

These are the few suggestions that might help you:
1. Place a humidifier in the room to warm the environment.
2. Give him steam inhalation 3 times a day for 5 to 10 minutes.
3. Mix half cup of warm water with 1tsp lemon juice and 1tsp honey. You can give it several times a day.
4. Apply oilve oil/seasame oil over the nostrils just before going to bed.
5. Avoid cold food items and give more of soups, warm milk, Unrefrigerated vegetables etc.

If the symptoms persist even after 5 days, it would be better to visit a Primary Physician for examination and evaluation as to determine the cause of the nasal blockage and required treatment accordingly.

Hope this answers your query. I am available for follow up as well.
