Question
Father is 86 and noticed this morning when he urinated black specks similar to pepper floating in water. No pain when urinating, no back pains etc. Just had blood work completed and everything fine. Any ideas? KIdney stone or urinary track infection?

Dear XXXXX,
It is an unusual finding.
Has he had any such problem before!
It could be something in the toilet bowl which appeared as if it was from his urine.
A good idea would be to pee in a clean white container the next time and see if the specks are still there.
If they persist, get a urinalysis and microscopy done.
