Question: 2 years ago I went into preterm labor 10 weeks early. my doctor told me the reason was unknown, and that was normal. even if that is true. lately I been thinking it ocer and have a few questions. for two years vefore I got pregnant I didn't have a period. i have a hormonal imbalance, sometimes hurts to have sex. I gotten pregnancy symptom without actually being pregnant. my doctor gave m a pill to help me ovulate, so I'd get a period. but instead I got pregnant. I'm 22 years old now. my question is could I be infertile? could this all be related. I'm on nexplanon for the XXXXXXX two years.. all these problems still occur except the false pregnancy symptoms.

Brief Answer:
You have good chance of pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
HI,

I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) You are definitely not infertile. Minor hormonal changes are common and could possibly be polycystic ovaries. Thats not a problem to conceive at all.

2) Since you are on nexplanon, you might have few (false) pregnancy symptoms due to hormone progesterone which is absolutely normal.

3) If you come off on nexplanon you will get pregnant. Since you already had a successful pregnancy and you are young , you have good chances of getting pregnant again soon.

4) Reason for preterm pregnancy cannot be said accurately. Your doctor was right and it may not repeat this time.

Let me know if you need anymore help.
