Question: 1. my mother is 70 years. She has normal BP and normal sugar levels. Since last week she is having cold and fever.

2. we got her blood test done On 10 feb, last sunday.
Report is enclosed.
Her WBC level is 3.5 approx. and HB is 7.9. So she had been given 4 spoons a day Dexorage (iron tonic, pic enclosed).

When next day she had watery loose motions 5-6 times.
then she did not take after stools Dexorange.

3. Then local doctor saw the cough and other conditions
Yesterday, it is found there are little nemonetic symptoms through a X-ray.
with cough once in every 5 minutes.

Local doctor gave an antibiotic throughdrip with anti-acids in the noon on 11th feb.
After that, But she was not able to eat anything due to gas and acidity after completing 100 ml I.V. of antibiotic.
Doctor gaver her 2 things...

BUT At night on 11th doctor gave one 1 medicine through drip with anti-acids. And told the patient to take sporlac also.

NOW ITS 3RD DAY THE DOCTOR HAD STARTER Cetil 500mg, with Anti-Flu tab with a Decongenstant tab. twice in a day.

Kindly give ur opinion
regarding - DIET and PRECAUTIONs, if any.... and ALSO...

Brief Answer:
Start with semisolid diet.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the report you have attached.
I have gone through the history you have mentioned.
In my opinion, she should take semisolid to liquid diet for 2 days.
This includes khichadi - curd, rice - curd, fruit juices like apple, orange, pomegranate juices.
She can also take vanilla ice cream as this will be good for acidity.
Better to give her home made and freshly prepared foods.
Avoid milk, wheat, oily and spicy food.
Along with all these, also give ORS (oral rehydration solution) with Zinc tablet.
About physiotherapy, she can do chest physiotherapy in the form of incentive spirometry and deep breathing exercises.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your mother. Thanks.

Sir, sorry for inconvenience. Actually text had been pasted incomplete by mistake inadvertently while submitting query. That day she had 2-3 watery vomits probably due course of medicines. Kindly help me to guide on dietry concerns with respect to the prescription our doctor gave on 2nd visit. PRESCRIPTION ENCLOSED FOR READY REF. Due to low levels of HB 7.9, B12 was 77 last week, doctor recommended NEUROBIN FORTE injections. Mother is otherwise taking normal diet, with little fruits with gap. and for digestion she is having Vizylac in morning, one liquid after noon meal, and one enzymes tab at night with AB PHYLLINE 100mg. Kindly suggest some DIET with respect to Low HB nd B12. and precautionary measure if needed. thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
No, don't take Intravenous.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
No, it can not be given Intravenous directly.
You can give it intravenously after diluting it in pint.
And best place for IM injection is gluteal region.
Better to use alternate buttock.
She can replace injection by taking oral neurobion Forte tablet.
At present where she is taking injection?
Do you think there is any swelling or Redness or pain at injection site?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your mother. Thanks.
