User:Hi Doctor,
My husband is not feeling well. he is 31 years old and he is having swelling in both legs (foot) without any pain and all the tests are normal (Sugar, BP, Urea and Vascular scan-Venous doppler scan). Doctor's said that it was filarial lymphedema. and also he is having breathing problem. even he is not able to sleep properly. and he is having pain in his upper stomach part feeling like something hard in his stomach. please advice whether its curable.what type of physician should I have to contact for this type of issues.

User:If he wear shoes, it will auomatically compress and once he removed his shoes,it automatically swelling

User:they take blood test particularly for sugar, urea and creatinine
Doctor:Ok since the routine investigations are normal
User:we have not taken urine test

Doctor:Keep a watch on them
Doctor:Ask you husband to keep the feet on the stool all the time when he sits (esp above the hip joint)
Doctor:and he should rest for 4 days without work
User:finally the vascular surgeon said its filarial lymphedema, it have no solution
User:your legs have never come back to the normal position
User:ti always looks with swelling
Doctor:I am not sure since I do not have a personal consultation, but the things that can be tried are
Doctor:1) Measure the circumference of the feet now with a tap with the surface touching
Doctor:2) Rest for 4 days completely with feet on the stool (the height above the hip)
Doctor:3)Place pillows under the knee while at sleep
Doctor:so that the feet are elevated
Doctor:4) Stocking have to be worn (medical stocking) when he resumes the duty
Doctor:5) He can go for olive oil massage thrice a day
Doctor:for the feet
Doctor:6) Get the Urine test - Routine done, early morning first sample to be given in a good lab
Doctor:Let me know the progress after a week
Doctor:measuring the circumference of the foot again
Doctor:I hope he has swelling of both the foot
