User :   Is there any medical evidence that Agent Orange caused lipomas in Vietnam Veterans? Hundreds of Vietnam Vets have lipomas, but the VA says they were not a result of Agent Orange.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   sorry there is no proof that lipomas can be caused by agent orange
Doctor :   but lipomas can be caused by post injury related tissue weakness
Doctor :   and as a war veteran , you must have had injuries during the war
Doctor :   are u there ?
User :   VA Citation Number 0000 Awarded a Veteran compensation for lipomas due to Agent Orange so does this mean the VA agreed Agent orange caused the lipomas? It is very confusing. We need medical evidence that Agent Orange "more likely than not" caused the formation of lipomas in Vietnam Veterans. Does that statement seem reasonable?
Doctor :   I am not aware of any such research or tests done
User :   With so many Vietnam Veterans filing claims for lipomas due to Agent orange, wouldn't it seem reasonable for someone to take the bull by the horns and do so sort of research to find out and help the Veterans out?
Doctor :   that is right
Doctor :   But for doing such an analysis, there needs a govt or university sponsoring
Doctor :   which is difficult
User :   Are there any doctors who specialize in Agent Orange diagnosis?
Doctor :   You can consult doctors in the VA hospitals who may help you out better
User :   Just for information, the VA is not going to help the Veteran. In fact, the VA is anti-Veteran and will do everything possible to deny a claim.
Doctor :   I do understand the situation
Doctor :   where do you reside ?
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   You can consult the doctors at the medical university , who cn help you out better
User :   Are there any other doctors on line with any other opinions?
Doctor :   I am of the opinion that most doctors would agree with me
Doctor :   I am so sorry if i was not able to help you out
Doctor :   give me a minute, so that i can transfer you to a specialist on our panel
Doctor :   let me read your history
Doctor :   ok, Agent Orange is a form of herbicides and defoliants with the composition of 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzodioxin
Doctor :   it causes oxidative stress and endocrine disruption being anti-estrogenic when estrogen is present (or in high concentration) in the body, and estrogenic in the absence of estrogen.
Doctor :   The National Toxicology Program has considered it to be a human carcinogen", frequently associated with soft-tissue sarcoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
Doctor :   Are u there ?
User :   Yes, still looking for more information from you.
Doctor :   increased rates of cancer, nerve, digestive, skin and respiratory disorders are also have been found
Doctor :   i guess you have moved out due to lack of time
Doctor :   thank you for consulting me here and please log in if u have any additional query
Doctor :   bye for now
